From the Language of Walls Photography Collection
Photographed by Antonio Duarte in Yucatán, Mexico, this image captures Mariposas del Yucatán, an impressive butterfly mural by French street artist Mantra.
What caught my attention was the incredible detail and scale of the butterflies. Painted as if they were part of a giant specimen collection, they almost seem to float inside the wall. It's one of those pieces where art and nature come together in such a beautiful and unexpected way.
Mantra is known for his large-scale murals inspired by the natural world, particularly butterflies and moths. His attention to detail makes his work fascinating to discover, especially when it appears in the middle of an ordinary street.
This photograph is part of my personal collection of street art photography, documenting murals, artists, and the visual moments I encounter while exploring cities around the world.
